There's different types of brain damage that affect language skills, and what makes it really sad is either the person knows their speech is fucked, or they absolutely don't and they think they're talking normally. I work with some drug-induced psychosis patients at a mental hospital and I see a lot of just jumbled up speech and the best I can do is try to guess and validate what they're trying to explain to me. Maybe it's worse if you know you don't make sense though. It's like being stuck in a mental prison.
