Wilson, Tannen became a perfect foil for Marty McFly's time-jumping adventures. His bull-dog temper, inability to use common sayings correctly and propensity for date rape made him someone despicable enough to hate on, and pathetic enough to laugh at. The brilliance of the Back to the Future films is that they don't just have Biff change into a better person at the end, they go back to the root and change his bloodline to stop generations of douchebags from ever existing.
